The Night Stalker

Sure, I know, this is supposed to be a movie ad blog, but if you read the fine print over there on the blog description you might see that I would occasionally throw in TV guide ads and old movie reviews. Here are some from the fall of 1974, the ads clipped from the TV Guide and the article from the Macon Telegraph. I enjoyed the series back then, and along with the Planet of the Apes show also premiering, it was a fun season for TV.

  2. Yeah, "The old man" was one of my faves. I've enjoyed the box set of the Night Stalker series since getting it!

  3. Frederick, we must be the same age, because Fridays during that Fall of 1974 was the coolest TV at the time. I used to watch Planet of the Apes at 8 on CBS, switch over to Chico and the Man and Sanford and Son on NBC at 9, and finish out the evening with Night Stalker on ABC at 10.

  4. Fred,

Not too far, you were younger when watching the shows that season, I was just about to turn 16. But I was just a kid at heart and atill am. Those were good times looking back on them.

  5. I'll jump in to join the fun, a little late as usual: Kolchak is absolutely one of my all-time favorite shows, favorite characters, and Darren McGavin was absolutely pitch perfect in the part. I discovered it late at night when the Sci-Fi Channel first got started and it was a lot more fun than writing term papers and studying for finals. A great fun show and endlessly rewatchable.
I liked it so much I even bought the hat!

  6. You'll have to forgive me...I was watching POLICE WOMAN (the show opposite NIGHT STALKER).
